Mark Two and Onyx Pro Turbo Print

Introducing Turbo Print, a new 250 µm layer height print mode for Gen 2 Mark Two and Onyx Pro printers, delivering up to 2x faster print speeds compared to 200 µm settings. This means quicker part delivery, increased printer throughput, and faster design iterations, resulting in greater value and enhanced ROI.

Turbo Print is particularly beneficial for users with high printer utilization, print farms, MRO parts production, rapid response to line changeovers, or frequent design iterations. Remarkably, parts printed at 250 µm maintain the same high-quality surface finish as those printed at 200 µm.

Benefits of Turbo Print

Printing up to twice as fast offers several advantages:

- **Faster Parts Production:** Parts are made quickly when you need them.
- **Accelerated Product Development:** Reduced timelines for product development.
- **On-Demand MRO Parts:** Faster production of MRO and line changeover parts on factory floors.
- **Increased Productivity for Job Shops:** More jobs can be accepted with higher productivity.

How to Get Turbo Print

Turbo Print is compatible with Gen 2 Mark Two and Onyx Pro printers and supports Onyx filament, requiring no hardware changes. Online printers need a firmware update, while offline Eiger users with active licenses will receive this feature in a future quarterly software update.

Compatibility

Due to hardware limitations, Turbo Print is not compatible with Gen 1 desktops or Gen 2 Onyx Ones:

- **Gen 1 Printers:** The Gen 1 extruder lacks sufficient filament push-force, and the printer wiring does not support the Gen 2 extruder, making an extruder swap impossible.
- **Gen 2 Onyx One:** These printers lack a fiber heater necessary for the 250 µm printing process.
- **Identification:** To determine if your printer is Gen 1 or Gen 2, check the product label on the back of the device.

Although we stopped selling Gen 1 desktops in 2019, they will continue to receive support through December 31, 2026, if covered by an active support plan or warranty. For more details, please refer to this bulletin.

Conclusion

Mark Two and Onyx Pro printers are known for producing strong, functional parts with secure and intuitive software. With the new Turbo Print feature, they are now capable of printing twice as fast, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
